Hollywood has been in the business of adaptations and remakes since its earliest days, and while it often receives criticism for a supposed lack of originality, we’d be lying if we said that this strategy didn’t result in a bunch of movies that we flat-out love.

This month, we’re exploring some of those favorites with our series Remakes & Hot Takes. Some are widely accepted as stone-cold classics. Others are films we consider under-appreciated gems. All are worth another look.
